Congratulations to Liam Lezama, contestant in the Santa Cruz County spelling bee. He made out with an ipad and lots of goodies and made Lincoln proud!

Message to Lincoln Elementary Families and Staff: Today, at approximately 2:30 p.m., one of our students was observed with a health concern. Out of an abundance of caution, we followed our established protocol to have the student transported to the hospital and assisted the family with travel arrangements. To ensure a safe and clear passage for emergency personnel through our busy parking lot, we initiated a brief shelter-in-place, keeping students in their classrooms during this time. I am pleased to share that all students were dismissed shortly after our normal dismissal time without any undue stress. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Sincerely, Ms. Burkett

National School Counseling Week recognizes the vital roles school counselors play in the lives of students across the country. Each year during the first full school week in February, schools, and teachers take time to show appreciation to the counselors who've made an impact on the lives of their students. School counselors provide a wealth of support throughout a student's academic career. As a counselor, they help students when they face adversity such as bullying, trouble at home, academic performance, and relationship issues. Counselors also listen to students' interests and assess their skills and personality to help them decide their future academic and career goals. Thank you Ms. Gaby Miranda for all you do for our students!

Testing Tips for Parents 1. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before the test. 2. On the morning of the test, your child needs to get up in plenty of time so he/she won't feel rushed. 3. Feed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that children do better on tests if they have had a good breakfast. 4. Do as much as you can to make your child feel comfortable. Try not to say things to make him/her feel more nervous. 5. Reassure your child that no matter the outcome of the test you will still love him/her. Encourage them to simply do their best. 6. Take an active role in your child's education throughout the school year. Let your child know you are interested in his/her learning by taking part in the entire process. 7. When the scores are sent to you, talk to your child's teacher. This will help you to understand them more clearly. 8. Give your child praise even if he or she didn't do well on the test.

Starting tomorrow we will start AZELLA Testing, please, help us by having all students arrive on time daily and be present for the entire testing day.
