Desert Shadows Middle School

Good afternoon DSMS Parents and Guardians,Late this morning, the school received a report regarding possible unknown individuals outside Robert Bracker Elementary and Desert Shadows Middle School. The individuals did not enter campus, and a lockdown was called out of an abundance of caution for both schools. Law enforcement was immediately notified of the suspicious activity, and the schools were briefly put on lockdown. We prioritize the safety of all staff and students, and it is greatly appreciated that the information was provided to ensure law enforcement could promptly respond to the concern. We thank our Desert Shadows School Resource Officer and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office for their quick response and support to ensure the safety of our students and staff.If you have any questions about this notification, please don’t hesitate to contact the DSMS office. Thank you,Christopher Miranda, Principal

Dear DSMS Parents and Guardians, Just a reminder that we have early release at 1:20 p.m. On Wednesday October 23 and on Thursday October 24th. On Thursday we have Parent Teacher Conference from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. We hope to see you here. Dear DSMS Parents and Guardians, Please be advised that DSMS will be running a regular schedule (8:00 am - 3:15 pm ) the rest of the week. Additionally, there will be no tutoring on Thursday, October 10th. We continue to encourage that your child attends school daily and on time as part of their academic growth. On October 11th is NHS Homecoming so let's support our Nogales Apaches! We will go into Fall Break from October 15 - 18 and classes will resume on October 21, 2024. Dear Desert Shadows Middle School Parents/Guardians, The safety and well being of our students is and will continue to be our top priority. For that reason, we are making modifications on our dismissal process, in particularly for students that are pick ups. Effective today, all students who live within a walking distance of DSMS will be the only students allowed to exit the campus gates after school and walk by Camino Diez Mandamientos. All other students not living within a walking distance of DSMS will only be allowed to be picked up in the DSMS parking lot or school dismissal area after school.
